Windows™ Notepad has been included with Windows for years. They used to provide a shortcut in the list of programs but that has been gone for years. However, Notepad is still included. What’s great about the new Notepad is the “auto save” feature. Meaning everything you type is auto-saved unless you delete the content yourself. It’s fantastic for having quick access to take important notes when you are in front of your computer and a thought comes to you that you don’t want to lose. Or someone calls you with important information you need to take down quickly. Even if you accidentally shut your computer down and neglect to save the information, Notepad saves it automatically. It’s very easy to create a shortcut for it too.
To create the shortcut, do the following. Click on the Windows™ icon on your taskbar, immediately type in “Notepad” and you will see the option to “pin to Taskbar”. It’s that easy.
